Hillel Ontario is thrilled to welcome Rebecca Kloosterman as the new director of Jewish Student Life at Hillel McMaster.
Kloosterman brings a wealth of experience to this role, with a strong professional background rooted in clinical and community mental health and well-being. Having spent years supporting individuals and families in the mental health sector, she is incredibly excited to bring her specialized skills, compassionate leadership, and experience directly to McMaster’s Jewish student community.

Kloosterman is dedicated to helping students feel comfortable and confident in their Jewish identity. Her ultimate hope is to cultivate an environment where every student feels empowered, supported, and a deep sense of belonging.
Kloosterman’s Jewish identity is rooted in community service and living by Jewish values in a modern world. She is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and vibrant space where McMaster students can truly thrive both personally and academically.

Kloosterman is a proud mother of two young children. When she isn’t busy with work or spending time with her family, she is an avid reader and lifelong learner who is deeply passionate about food and friendship.
Kloosterman looks forward to connecting with students, families, and community partners in the upcoming academic year.
