NEW PROGRAM SERIES: O-MA-NOOT Jewish Art Spotlights
O-MA-NOOT (Hebrew for 'art') Gallery at Beth Jacob synagogue is a spiritual and creative art sanctuary for Jewish values, themes, and artists. We promote community collaboration, cooperation and diversity within a peaceful framework.
Each week in June, join us for a one-hour presentation exploring Jewish art and artists. Thank you to our programming committee members Dina Honig and Cindy Richter for arranging these fascinating speakers.

"As a Bene Israel Jew from India now living in the United States, I am a Jewish artist creating cross cultural and transcultural art. My perspective bridges the traditional and the modern, and sparks discourse across cultures."
Siona Benjamin has an MFA in painting and an MFA in theater set design. She has exhibited in the United States, Europe, and Asia. She was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship in 2011 to India, and a second Fulbright fellowship in 2016-17 to Israel.

A 2015 documentary about Siona, Blue Like Me, follows her visit to a small Jewish village in Mumbai and examines her ability to 'fuse global religions with mythology and pop culture to create new worlds.'
