Everyone at BBYO Eastern Canada joins me in warmly welcoming our new Hamilton engagement associate, Abby Gourley-Rein, who brings a wealth of leadership experience and a passion for building vibrant Jewish community. 

From the moment Gourley-Rein arrived at McMaster University, she immersed herself in Jewish campus life, taking on leadership roles with Hillel McMaster and earning a prestigious StandWithUs Emerson Fellowship, which equips students to combat antisemitism and strengthen Jewish identity on campus.

Recognizing a gap in Jewish campus life following the closure of McMaster’s Delta Pi chapter during the pandemic, Gourley-Rein and a group of friends set out to bring a new Jewish sorority rooted in Jewish values to McMaster, where members could form lifelong friendships and develop as future leaders. Abby founded and served as president of Zeta Beta Omega McMaster. Under her leadership, the chapter attracted more than 20 active members and is still growing.
Gourley-Rein is a joy to interact with. She’ll fit right into BBYO Hamilton with her positive energy, friendly nature, and passion for empowering others. I’m looking forward to working with her as I transition into my role as the community engagement director of BBYO Eastern Canada — where I will continue to support Hamilton BBYO.
