TAS Religious School welcomes a new year

Sept. 2026
Dora-Ann Cohen-Ellison

At Temple Anshe Sholom, we are excited for you to meet Rabbi Michael Weiss at our Potluck in the Park on Sept. 2, 2026 from 4:30-6:00pm. We welcome students back to an incredible new school year starting Sept. 9th and to kick things off, we are partnering with Kehila Heschel families for a wonderful family program and apple picking at Carluke Orchard!

We invite students in JK through Grade 7 to join over 70 of their peers to learn, celebrate, and explore Jewish life on Shabbat mornings and Wednesday evenings. Wednesday classes make Hebrew learning fun, featuring hands-on electives like art, cooking, gardening, STEM, physical education, and music! Ready to secure your spot? Registration and exciting school news for our Temple Learning Program can be found at https://anshesholom.ca/tas-religious-school.

Do you have a teen in Grade 8, 9, or 10? They will love our Thursday evening program: B’Yachad - Making a Difference in Your Community, open to all local Jewish teens. Registered students in Grade 8/9 can travel to Montreal this November, and teens in Grades 8–10 can join our new monthly D&D Q&A with Rabbi Weiss on the first Thursday of each month! Register at https://anshesholom.ca/tas-religious-school.

As we prepare for the High Holy Days, we have planned meaningful ways to gather at the Temple and our beautiful local parks. Rosh Hashanah includes Family morning service & Tashlich at the Creek. For Yom Kippur, we invite you to join our Family Kol Nidre, family morning service, and engaging afternoon programs for all ages. This Sukkot, we have planned a morning of Festival Activities for Families, followed by lunch on Sat. Sept. 26.

For our littlest ones, we have a NEW Tot-Rosh Hashanah Circletime followed by shofar & festive luncheon on Sun Sept 13th at 11:15am. Our drop-in Tot-Shabbat resumes on Sat., Oct. 17th at 11:15am, where toddlers and caregivers meet weekly for songs and stories. Our Junior and Senior Youth groups, led by Yael Morais, offer amazing monthly social and social action programming on Thursdays and Sundays. Throughout the year, look forward to family pot-luck Shabbat nights, hikes, trivia, and a family skate!

We hope your family will join us to start something new, renew connections and grow together. Visit anshesholom.ca to register today!
